rereading! this story always tears me up.

the part with franz really gets me

really enjoying reading + annotating so far :)

i believe i am experiencing emotions that have no names

i feel unwell. this book might take me out

i really enjoy the prose and narration style, it's very clear and feels distinctive.

i feel like i am being repeatedly stabbed in the gut

are there any words to explain the things i feel because of this book

the spontaneous decision to listen to this audiobook at work bc alice walker narrates it herself may be the worst decision ever. i am going to end up sobbing but also i rlly rlly want to revisit this now that i have an actual brain and am not 13 and oblivious. but also i am at work already i do not need emotional devastation. but also i will definitely be continuing. goddammit!

i am having so much fun with this audiobook. its funny, sweet, ridiculous, cheesy, and a wonderful time. there has been a few moments where i feel like this book is giving me smth i didnt know i needed and there was a very affirming moment i appreciated :)

i have genuinely grown fond of all the main characters. i have a huge soft spot for arthur and gwen is my beloved anxious bisexual nail picker representation <33

listening to this audiobook and i love it. the narrators are fantastic for the style of writing. so far this is super cute and genuinely funny, especially bc the narrators have good delivery. having a blast. god i love lesbians. princess and lady knight being awkward freaks for each other <33

fellowship's pacing is kinda crazy bc we Just left rivendell and theres only 125 pages left. having a fantastic time tho. counsel of elrond chapter is goated. bill the pony is goated. tolkiens silly songs/poems are goated. managed to make multiple unrelated conversations relate to the Greatest Trilogy Of All Time today!

i expected to love the second half of dune more than the first based off of my feelings on the villeneuve dune duology, but i am struggling a little to maintain interest in some of the later sections. still very good, but my attention is wandering rn. i am especially struggling with chani's character. again, i watched the films first, where chani was my favorite character. the original depiction of chani is. boring.

i love this book... i love these characters... i love everything about it.... great second read/listen thus far<3

i reread the song of beren and tinúvirl last night and it was so so lovely. this time around has allowed me to appreciate aspects of the story i didnt the first time. beautiful stuff. i also memorized the "road goes ever on and on" poem bc i found it so lovely this time :)<3

having a fantastic time thus far. loving the world building. feeling like a cheater for having watched the villeneuve films before this, but it sure helped me understand wtf is happening lol!!

this book is just so ridiculous and lovely <33 i really love dess and oort, and their weird weird relationship, and the world building is just a blast. i do wish there was more focus on the main cast and a little less focus on the side stories though.

rereading this after three-ish years! valente is such a star 💘 i love the verbose, overwritten, and indulgent prose of this one so much. danesh jalo you will always be famous!

ive been procrastinating finishing this novel for several days and i keep crying over it instead

oh samwise gamgee how i love you <33 this last section has been amazing. sam's rescue of frodo was so exciting and heartbreakingly sweet. i love them so bad. also the amount of dialogue in the sam and frodo scenes is much appreciated, i love their dynamic and dialogue is more engaging to me than most of tolkiens descriptions
