I’m about halfway done and if the plot doesn’t stop being so elusive with more specific pieces to the story, then I’m bailing. Here’s the thing, I feel like we’re spending more time on whether or not these other men in the book are straight or not than unraveling whether Hollywood is good or bad. I’d think when you’ve almost died twice in a couple of days putting your libido aside is more important.

I don’t know, between how the story has started and reviews I’ve read, I’m not sure I’m going to enjoy this. Especially since I feel like the series has kind of deteriorated as it has progressed. Putting this on hold, I’ll try again later.

What?! Are you serious? This is unlike Imogen and Rafael, she normally lets him speak. Omg this is awful she let all of her 200k years of trauma thwart her first real glimpse of happiness

Not a huge fan of the narrator

I find the way this heroine is explaining she isn’t this all knowing entity just because she’s really old, but it’s still kind of weird since she does have a lot of knowledge. Knowledge and smarts are not the same thing.

I’m not sure I’m going to continue with this series. I still have not been given any background to even believe Croft is competent enough to do any of the things he’s done thus far or continues to agree to. And Theonius finally made an appearance for several hours yet no one recognized him before while passing out on a sidewalk?

See, this is much better and we’re actually hearing something about the order. I still need him to explain training and what his map is and what he does. I def think the Croft and Tabby books should be after this.

Weird how the author continues to complain about the greedy men running NYC and the crash of 2008 being mentioned liberally I all the books and prequels so far, but a church is seemingly revered. You know, the Catholic kind where dioceses have paid exorbitant amounts to settle with victims of the abuse running rampant for generations

I have no idea why this installment is hard for me to pay attention to, but it seems darker than normal.

I don’t get all these starts and stops. I also don’t get why Levy is just going about her business as if there hadn’t been 2 attempts on her life. Why has Gareth disappeared? This is usually the point in the plot where there is forced proximity to protect her. Or even Lucas should be demanding they stay with him

I’m not sure I can go on with this series. Holly treats Adam like an afterthought and in immersive reading/skipping ahead the author has these two say I love you while portraying Holly as mildly interested at best. This series has gone off the rails imo and I’m just not interested anymore.

Okay, putting this on hold, it’s way serious compared to my mood so I’ll come back.

Why are Lucy and Jess ALONE at NIGHT?!?! Are you kidding me? Lucy is the Queen of Werewolves, who was rarely alone in her books, and Jess is almost the Queen of the creatures, are you really telling me they would be alone? Give me a break

Also said Bastian was part of the brethren? So he’s 1/2 griffin and 1/2 dragon?

Oh! Lucy just made a big deal of having Archie unlock his phone to call Jess and then when she answered Jess knew it was Lucy and not Archie? How!?

Sucubys instead of incubus. Why would Wilf allow this kind of fracture in his pack.

This was a nice addition, I’m glad I waited to read it per the author’s website, helps provide a bit more background.
