One day/chapter down. I don’t want to say too much before book club but so far, not for me.

I don’t know where to start, this is book of the year for me. Grounded in scripture, JMC implores the reader to “Soak your mind and imagination in Jesus’ truth before they are assaulted with the devils lies.”

Why didn’t they interview that person earlier? Oh right, so the book could be longer.

Just your typical murder mystery with pensioners and young cop/senior cop banter.

I think I’m starting to like this book after all. I guessed the twists but I will admit there was one subtle hint that I missed.

Initial impressions are that this book is more humorous than I expected and I’m still warming up to that tone of writing. Not sure it will be entirely to my taste but I’m happy to be reading something a bit different!

Finally finished. This book was largely about the characters and I felt that the plot was lacking because of that. After they got Inej back I didn’t really feel much suspense or intrigue.

This is a ridiculous book about our ridiculous world. What I mean is, so many intense and terrible situations happen that are entirely believable. This book is making me feel sad, hopeful, resigned and grateful all at once.

Listening to the audiobook with a well suited dramatic and serious voice. The writing style is very much the older style of laying out the groundwork in a methodical and orderly way. I’m interested in what actual plot this book develops because right now it is mostly descriptive of the state of things at present.

Are we ever going to achieve world peace? No, and that’s a Damn-Dam shame.

It’s so hard to read cruelty but that’s what makes a well written villain right, you loathe them! Can’t wait to see this tyrant fall.
Feels like there is not enough book left to resolve everything but I know it’s all about to collide!

It’s taking me a long time to get through this one, maybe that’s just because of lifestyle changes in recent months but I am finding this book a bit slow.

Some things happen in this book that seem pointless. I’m hoping they are important later on!
I’m also sad that I don’t like Dara anymore. He seemed cool in the first book…

Quite a thrilling end to the second book.

Hits different now that I’m actually in postpartum. This is a very reassuring and insightful read. Would recommend for expectant and new mums.

This book is about prejudices and the great lengths people will go to in order to bring justice to their oppressors. But how far is too far? Is it ok to repeat atrocities for a so called better future? 🤔
