Absolutely great book so far, we have been learning about how ACT UP formed and the group within of artists titled Gran Fury. ACT UP was a coming together of only about 50 people until they put together a concentration camp float with the first display of the pink triangle being repurposed for queer liberation in the NYC Pride Parade in 1968. ACT UP gained 500+ members overnight. Gran Fury led art initiatives within.

Just started 'Erasing History: How Fascists Rewrite the Past to Control the Future' by Jason F. Stanley today as an AUDIO BOOK! Recommended by Bluesky reader community. I hold a heavy heart as I listen, knowing I've lived and experienced through a lot of the things discussed and have been seeing fascism rise before my very eyes. I hope this book and 'How Fascism Works' his prior book will help me change the world.

I have picked up a handful of books, physical or audio recently. My focus right now is on survival. How did the queers of the past survive WW2/The Holocaust? Starting at the beginning of gay liberation movements with Magnus Hirschfeld's history with the Institute for Sexual Science and beyond. I make every move with precision right now. I am preparing to survive the fascist onslaught coming due to the election.
