love me some metafiction! and I enjoy the writing too - I'm really early into the novel, I know, I know, but I'm excited!

this book always feels longer than it is - and I guess I experience with this the fatigue some friends got from Pride and Prejudice; how? I cannot imagine, that book is fun and bubbly - this one though, it is not. It's getting quite interesting now, don't get me wrong but it's not my fav from the Queen

It's a good sign when in bed at night I abandon my kindle for a physical book. I couldn't put it down.

It also annoys me a bit that the characters are trying so hard to fit into their labels that they don't feel fully formed, but this too shall pass (hopefully).

Ugh I did remember that this is not one of my favourite Austen novels, but Rosamund Pike is narrating this one too and I need to work so listening to the audiobook will do.

Might be a five star, babes. I really like staying in this book for as long as possible and I'm scared I'm reading it too fast. The author is a poet and you can tell by his prose. I'm highlighting everything!🌷

Love me when it takes me only a page to really be transported into a book. It's a bit triggering for me.

It's the lack of accountability for me... you can't make a statement defending a rapist and then have your excuse be "oh, I was just after surgery, I don't even remember writing that statement". How about "yeah, I fucked up and I am sorry".

Sometimes the pacing is a little bit off, but I am having so much fun with this story. It's a lot.

I quite like this, the thing that bothers me so far is that she is very much playing the victim - and I don't mean a situation specifically or that extreme being a victim, but it feels like the rest of the people are always the bad guys and she always has an excuse for her behaviour, be it sickness or something else. It's the kind of thinking you must learn to combat, you know? But I'm still curious.

I cannot express how much I love these characters and this story - since I just reread it last year (also in spring) I wasn't sure I'd be as thrilled but turns out I could reread it yearly and enjoy it just as much.

I'm gonna read it slowly, she said. I'm gonna take my time with it, she said. Well I got to 40% now and I was gonna listen more but I forced myself to stop because the book club is at the end of the month. Also I'm not even listening this audiobook to the usual speed I listen to! I just love this book and I couldn't stop reading!!
