Rereading time!

Will I ever finish this one?

I cannot express how much I love these characters and this story - since I just reread it last year (also in spring) I wasn't sure I'd be as thrilled but turns out I could reread it yearly and enjoy it just as much.

I'm gonna read it slowly, she said. I'm gonna take my time with it, she said. Well I got to 40% now and I was gonna listen more but I forced myself to stop because the book club is at the end of the month. Also I'm not even listening this audiobook to the usual speed I listen to! I just love this book and I couldn't stop reading!!

I am having so much fun with this book and dammit I might have to watch Metropolis now even though I promised my Uni professor (for art-cinema-music class) that I will watch it after I had a question on Metropolis on my exam more than a decade ago. I promised I'll watch it, not WHEN I will watch it!

Just started it but it's giving The Martin vibes with something extra.

Ah, chapter 15 (I think) - the one when she decides that she actually wants the trial to be public is so amazing, so strong! and then that paragraph how she wouldn't have decided the same if she was younger because "those looks" and then she writes about how we as women are always thinking about "those damn looks" whatever we do, even something simple as what do I wear in the morning...

The second half is less repetitive and pretty nice.

I need a break. I spent my entire day so far with this woman and I still cannot believe how strong she is after what she went through.

I both cannot stop listening and also don't want to anymore. I really admire this woman, especially when in one chapter she talks about how she doesn't want to be just adjacent to her family (just a granny), she wants to be her own self.

Sometimes I think I just don't like historical fiction (or family sagas) but I think I just don't like bad writing. I finished it (again) but will review it tomorrow.

Surprisingly I'm vibing with our duke who is not really a duke but what do I know about Italian titles?

I'm really intrigued by this book and I cannot wait to return to it!

It had a good start, but it repeats itself so much without saying anything that it's getting on my nerves!
