Primitive man naturally believed, out of his horror at the phenomena of nature, that there was an unknown spirit directing thunder and lightning. It is natural for the weak to fear power. Thus, the mind of this human child, unable to understand the laws of nature, created a powerful being in his image, ruling the universe, and primitive man worshipped that being, every family and tribe created a god for itself.
