My bone to pick with this novel so far is the fact of how alike the first novel it is. That's to be expected, but everything is the same--the character's interactions, the behavior/personality traits the others had before these two--it's literally copy paste. Plus, the way Demethys is about to nut every time Harper does something that's not even remotely sexual is very off-putting and makes me want to drop this book.

Very interesting take on necromancy and alchemy. It's got a different way with writing things, plus it's extremely well-done with pain, agony, and gore vs what other novels do which is barely enough in this same genre.

Dain is 100% ugly. Not even anywhere near attractive. Maybe he had been at one point, but dear Lord. The only thing somewhat attractive or notable from him is his slight golden retriever and hero personality.

Xaden is as smug as his dragon and it's amusing. Violet almost shitting herself after having a mini staring contest with his dragon was probably the best part of the third chapter, though.

The first chapter was the longest, drawing out the most information and dumping it onto you, expecting you to mostly understand and not dissociate halfway through it.
F to my man, Dylan. He was a wholesome lad who deserved better than to be dropped like that. :/

Xaden doesn't sound attractive. All offense, because, not all men with stubble or facial hair are appealing to everyone vice versa, sadly.

What the fuck am I reading? No offense, but is she trying to seduce the king when they first meet, or is she trying to be cringe and make everyone uncomfortable? The scenes beforehand where they skip through time are slightly boring and not of importance, yet somewhat decent to read, nonetheless. It's simply hard to follow a bit at times when the MC isn't doing anything other than lounging around in a private quarter

I am in love with this novel. It makes me think about things a different way, and is completely different from the normal run-of-the-mill fantasy novel, which hits all the right spots. The only issue I had was the minimalistic amount of screentime the Goblin King has had in regards to being around or any form of presence around Freya. Other than that, I cannot wait to see how Freya and her companion fair.

Fairly decent, slightly rushed with the romance in the novel, but it could simply be me complaining about the male lead's personality (I don't even remember their names at this point). It's sad I don't remember their names, seeing as how I was genuinely intrigued to read something that's a lot slower than what is usually in my currently being read list. The characters don't feel as impactful as other novels I've read

The constant back and forth with Layla and Kerym is honestly boring and overused at this point. They keep second-guessing each other's ulterior motives, barely had enough time to get back into a feel of things before Kerym leaves, then they both start loathing on each other top the max before breaking down almost every other chapter for the whole book so far.

They finally kissed. That's literally it other than them visiting her sister, Tessa, after being gone for only a week. She fell in love with the fae prince in a week. The fact that over half the book was the expanse of a week--I've read worse about people falling in love in less than a week. Alright, I guess. I look forward to when they start ruling their kingdom and how Malachi overthrows his father.

This book just keeps getting better and better. The detail in the chapter after Priestess and her newly found party start their adventure off, completely oblivious, and in immense danger, only to find themselves being absolutely wrecked by Goblins who they thought were similar to children (minus the weapons, literally). The fact they'd abolished the thought of Goblins having access to weapons was their biggest error.

Legitimately the best thing I've ever started reading, next to Spice & Wolf. I have nothing to say about my current thoughts with this novel other than perfection. Am currently watching the second season, but I wished to read this awhile ago and will now finally fulfill that wish of mine.

The first chapter of this novel is so well-written. I fucking lost my shit reading it, honestly. The introduction to the story was beautiful and slightly quenched thr nostalgia I was looking for in a novel. Even the ending of the chapter had me wanting to read more to see where it progresses (eventually will anyways) and how often Freya will encounter the goblin she recently met and what mischief her sister ran into.

Honestly thought Layla leaving would leave a heavier impact on Kerym and that he'd maybe attempt to force the information out of her cousin, Amara, but the fact she didn't say anything other than the silly words of "you don't need to know if she didn't tell you".

The time skip could have used a lot of working with. It would have been nice to figure out how Layla met Harper and Olias, and other members.

The information dump from the first couple chapters is bland and nothing of true note, but it is fairly a lot of information to take in with a whole bunch of names being thrown around. It's not too over the top, though.

The world building--so far- it doesn't explain if they're on a whole different planet or whatever it is. The building is very vague aside from the basics.

Holy shit this book is absolutely ripping me apart. The beginning was hard to get around compared to the first novel which was much easier, but as the story progresses with Lysander breaking completely after the Bronze brood finally catches up to him once again and pillages the human's settlement, it gets so much better. The things this book has made me feel--just ugh--Eroan's reunion with Lysander--I relished in it.

Their first meeting is slightly dragged out, but made much more convenient from what I had been thinking it would be like before I had finished the chapter prior, and flows quite nicely. Though, the fact the mage is hidden in a cloak with the hood up, makes it very stereotypical in my opinion--in his failed attempt to keep his face hidden, or maybe he doesn't actually mind showing his face?

Became slightly fast-paced, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the MC scaling rooftops, being betrayed by her closest confidant, and her father being used as a form of leverage due to him having a debt to pay back to a group of assassins from the poorer end of their city. Cannot wait to find out how she introduces/meets the Lord of Roseward and what his reaction would be to a woman randomly appearing.

Decently well-written. Reminds me of a similar novel I've read, and yes, I've read the one star review for this novel and do agree with the vulgarity of the MC, but it also won't deter me from continuing the series as a whole, seeing as it has to genuinely piqued my interest nonetheless.

This is absolutely well-written. I cannot describe how I feel whenever I come back to continue reading this novel--there's just something about how well-paced it is, how fluid everything is and I hope to see decent worldbuilding in the end, as well. I love the background of the King specifically--how his father was ruthless when it came to his conception. His parent's interaction left an impactful impression on me.

Um, holy shit? This is a very slow burn, but also manages to pace itself despite being such a decently-sized novel. I have fallen completely in love with how Arlo treats Faenir, though. The enemies to lovers trope is strong with these two. You can see Arlo letting himself finally, slowly begin to unravel (in a good sense) when he's with Faenir. Him opening himself up to the other is slow, yet still gradual.

hOLy SHit is all I can say to this book and how much I've devoured it within the last couple days. It has been an absolute roller coaster reading this book. I can't describe how shocked I am to have learned this was a debut novel, and it was so well written on the gore aspects--I've ascended, truly.

The very first sentence is what truly caught my attention. I don't think I've seen anybody open with something so dramatic and intriguing at the same time to keep you interested with so little to go off of.

In love with how the author gives you a list of songs to listen to that she had used in order to write the book.
