Dnfing. It's giving pick me. It's giving wattpad y/n energy. It's giving "he pulls your pigtails because he likes you". And It's honestly giving borderline sexual assault 🙃 And there are times I devour this type of stuff when I'm up for it, but now isn't one of those times so I'm shelving this as dnf. Hopefully I'll pick it back up when the mood calls for some good old 2015 pick me mindset lmao

I got into 40% percent of this book before i DNFed the first time I read this. How horrible of me, i know.

I'm giving it a second chance now and hoping I can finally relate to the fandom.

Just getting into it and already the world building is lackluster. The way the author describes the scenery makes it seem like the underworld is literally a few blocks away from Mt Olympus. Heroine legit ran from Zeus tower and straight towards the underworld in a few short pages.

So far, its not bad. But i just can't get past the fact that im supposedly listening to the inner monologue of a six year old. Like what six year old says stuff like
"He was the epitome of a nonchalant bad boy from tip to toe."
Idk why she had to be written as a six year old if it doesn't go with how she's made to act. I guess if only to push for the age gap troupe? But idk we'll see. So far not dropping yet

So far it's nice and all but I can get passed the fact that the dialogue im reading is supposed to be from the mind of a 6 year old. Its just ridiculous to me. I really dont see the point of why the author had to make her this young if her actions dont add up. I guess to push the age gap troupe? Seems unnecessary and unrealistic

DNF. Could barely stand Ellie. Now there seems to be a Dania redemption arc on the works. No thanks. I understand their issues and struggles but I always operate under the belief that thats not an excuse to treat people like shit. Flynn deserves better. Even from a clinical standpoint, surely Ellie's temperament cant be healthy for him.

They're so bad for each other ngl. I cant keep up with ellie's inner monologue. One minute shes talking about how she wants Flynn to be normal, the next shes talking about how much she loves him. I understand her frustration but reading about it on repeat makes me want to dnf.

At this point, idk why im even reading the sequel. Never liked Ellie in the first book and still dont like her now. She seems really toxic for Flynn.

Contrary to popular opinion, im seriously considering dropping this. I can already see this is a good story but im having a hard time connecting with the h. I cant stand for bullying and I know she has her reasons but you have to be a whole different level of asshole to pick on someone with a mental disability.

This sex scene is a recipe for a guaranteed UTI lmao

I'm close to putting this book down and just DNFing it. There is so much internalized misogyny in this whole series. Especially this one. Public blowjobs? seriously? There is absolutely nothing I find endearing about Vaughn.

Not sure I'm finding the heroine's brand of quirky as humorous or amusing. Her random side comments just makes the writing style all the more hard to follow.

I used to like Captain. That's all I have to say.

This book is ridiculous as hell. I can't deal with the dialogue and the characters who are trying too hard to be badass. I literally cringe from second hand embarrassment everytime they try to hype the bRaYsHaW name. And don't get me started on how convenient it all seems to be for them that Victoria existed in the shadows to apparently guide them all along. This belongs in wattpad.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. I came to reading this book because it's been mentioned a lot in adult fantasy romance threads. But this awfully sounds like child grooming to me. Not sure any amount of the author's pretty words could justify what is basically pedophilia. This story couldve gone much better had she been 18 to start. Im not dropping it yet tho, let's see where this goes..

I'm still waiting for Lilah to grow a pair. I'm more than halfway through the book and Its still the slowest barely existent character development coming from her, its kinda dragging listening to her POV now.

I just cant help comparing Beau to Asher and it seems really hard to like Beau because it feels like betrayal to Asher. And frankly, Beau just couldnt compare to the guy that was Asher
