Just not very inspired, so far. Report goes to hometown and investigates murders. That's literally it. I've been given no reason to care about anything that happens. I'm sure the information they're giving me will come up later, but I have no incentive to absorb it now. Doesn't have one bit of the charm of Gone Girl.

I was sort of confused and droning out of it, then suddenly, it all fell into place. This society of anti-intellectualism is so clever and thematically strong, and the discussion of comfort, burning away the tears and melancholy, is so contemporarily relevant and personally resonant. And Bradbury's writing is so electric with passion and vigour.

Pretty decent, so far. Really engaging writing that reads like a natural stream of consciousness, and I like the nuance and depth in their marital relationship. My main issue so far is just how slow it is. I'm already 200 pages in and not much has happened. I've seen the movie and somehow everything seems familiar, meaning the movie covered all of this very quickly and easily. So the mystery and story: stagnant.
