The protagonist disappointed me with how quickly he gained confidence and how he reacted to Momose's justification. And Momose suddenly came out with a really nuanced philosophical discussion of morality and behaviour that is probably the best part of the book so far in a book I was already liking a lot. Woah.

The prose is pretty boring, which might be because of the translator. And the story is a generic romance so far. But I don't mind generic romances, they have great chemistry, and the depiction of bullying is actually pretty decent. The imagery is visceral and specific, and the psychology of becoming and desiring to be an object is powerful. Pretty good so far.

I think I'm done with this book. There's just zero plot or chemistry. I can't find it in me to care about this shallow fling between a kind of quirky girl and boring ass guy. I'm not saying you need someone to die or an alien to appear, but their chemistry is not nearly enough to carry this book without literally anything exciting in the plot.

The inner narration is good but everything else kind of sucks. The plot moves slow as helllll, the romance is shallow and forced, and there's barely any dialogue. I mean, you can hardly feel chemistry between the lovers because they don't speak (and because there isn't any).

Decent so far, quirky narration but maybe too much granularity with the story. I mean 20% in and they only just left the club. I was thinking Norah's POV was much better written than Nick's, only to find out it's two different authors. Don't think I've ever read a split authored book before.

So far what I've gotten from this is war is bad and Billy is somehow stuck in alien business. Nothing else. Honestly, I was way more interested in the first person narrator at the start and the meta-fiction discussion of writing the book. I could not care less about Billy.

This is completely losing me. They switch POV's all the time now and only make clear it's a new POV until like 4 pages in. This'll heat up and finally get somewhere, then the memory reset will hit and it goes back to the beginning. They spent ages being in Kokone's head, explaining why she kills Mogi, Mogi is literally dead and bloodied, then a second later it's actually the other way around? Huh? I'm so confused.

Thing are picking up, I guess? I don't know, it's hard to follow. I can't really tell what's going on or where it's going. There was this one scene where the mc is like 'oh i know the solution that this girl who's been looping for 70 years didn't think of! just kill everyone!". It's like it's trying to be edgy by being cryptic and stupid and I don't know I just hope something interesting happens soon.

It's kind of interesting so far. Timeloops are always good but not really unique and this hasn't done anything differently yet. I'm just not sure what it's trying to do or is going for at the moment.

Pretty bland. Not enough conflict or comedy or inner reflection from Kyon. They kind of just make a movie and that's it. I wish it leaned more into the supernatural stuff or their relationships. It just doesn't do enough for me, and only now at 80% will something significant mayyyybe happen.
