One of the most powerful self-help books I've ever read.

I started off really well with this book. Got into her rather unusual writing style quite quickly. However, I'm not finding it unputdownable. Maybe it's just too heavy-going with the literary styling rather than the lighter popularist styles of historical fiction that I am used to!

Downloaded the Kindle version as it's in the Kindle Daily Deal in the UK for 99p. Was almost put off by reviews complaining about the author's curious writing style but I'm glad I got it. I've got into the style and am enjoying it.

It is as good as everyone said!

Oh my word - 'Wenceslas' was an actual name in the 16th century! That's made my night. I thought they made it up for the Carol. Going to suggest it to my son & daughter-in-law, it's weird enough for them to like!

I saw the film so had to read the book. As so often, the book is much better than the film. It is very well-written and the characters are more developed and humorous than in the film. Having said that, the film was a good adaptation.

I woke in a happy buzz of excitement this morning. I'm co- host on a teleseminar for authors tonight, all about my favorite website, Goodreads! I hope my voice holds out, getting over a heavy cold!

Goodreads is more important than ever for authors. Deborah Carney of BookGoodies reported that an author told her she found a Goodreads review on her book's Amazon page today - an old Goodreads review. It's started!

Just opened it to take a quick peek in the middle of a working day and had to stop myself!

So glad to have discovered this author. One of the funniest writers I have found on Goodreads!
