Richard E. Grant's narration is excellent but honestly sometimes terrifying lmao.

I don't much like Miss Marple as a character but so far this is very fun, Griselda is wonderful, and things are moving along quite briskly!

Very interesting and fun so far with momentum! Joan Hickson also seems energized in her reading haha, pulling off a number of distinct voices. Maybe it's the village vibe?

Attempt no. 2, this time with Joan Hickson as narrator rather than Emilia Fox whose shrill and grating voice rather left me in shock. Hickson is incredibly old-sounding, she does not try to do any voices or accents (everyone just sounds like an old lady haha), and regularly one hears a sharp intake of breath and accumulation of saliva that must be whisked away hahaha. So arch! It's been enjoyable so far LOL.

The middle portion is almost over thank God. For all this man's talents, I just do not care to read about the backstory of these wretched slave patrolmen who are so minor as to be NPCs, nor distant cousins of side characters, nor mothers of side characters, nor all the cold dispassionate people he fills this book with who wander around like ghosts going in and out of life because Jones is obsessed with prolepsis.

This one's pretty diabolical, hmm.

Man. The guy can write but this middle portion is so winding, unfocused, slow, and unfortunately concerned with people who are about as interesting as a bundle of sticks. Smh.

Ah, this is one of those silly and comical Christie's, and I'm enjoying it haha.
