God I love this man lol

Staying up late to read this book while listening to SZA and crying my heart out

It has become miserable not just in the telling but in the events which are full of violence, threats of violence, and people who are all pretty miserable too. Lol. What the heck.

Very cool stories so far.

Ngl everything after Book 1 has been a drag. Also Yorsh, now a teen, has lost all charm and humor and is kind of mean, unsympathetic, and uninteresting. Lol.

Finally reading this and it's pretty neat gotta say. It is so continental lol.

The first story (The Girl Who Raised Pigeons) made me cry, so something's definitely working *gestures vaguely at self*

The worst kind of time-skip, the kind I hate the most lol.

Fucked up author. But really enjoyable book so far.

Remarkably, being about uncertainty and how human brains constantly look for connections and patterns when there are none, this is complementary to the OCD book I'm reading lol.

Picked this up at the library without any context or realizing it's number 3 in a series haha. Very excited for this esp after I bounced off Alien Clay. It's in third person without any jokes so far thank god...

I need more of this woman's words in my mind. Enjoying it greatly so far. Also is there a genre of writing about how humans have unrealistic expectations of other species, not to mention themselves?

Love the gentle humor throughout that nods at the absurd -- on some level, yes, if we can imagine it, are we all just wall-lickers?

Woefully disappointing if this is how it's going to end.

Picked this up again after a long break because I only have a couple more hours, so why not! Rumelt is becoming increasingly bitter as we near the end which is funny. But he provides fewer and fewer alternate solutions beyond just deeply analyzing the problem. Fair but unsatisfying. Idk maybe he has some big revelation saved up for the last act.

What the hell is gonna happen next, that's what I want to know!!

Still amazingly funny, only now more surreal, transparently ominous, painful, and sad.

If the book can sustain this level of momentum and absurdity it might be among my favorites of all time. We'll see!

Whew this stuff's dire! Have they made an anime out of this yet? Oh right that's The Drifting Classroom...

Dystopian YA from the 70s with teens in hell. Has no reason to be this good so far! Lola is one of those good-hearted & ill-fated Carson McCullers protagonists whom I love. Blossom, the villainous fat girl is a scene stealer who quoted Medea and is probably going to be my favorite by the end. Abigail is somehow great despite not doing much. Peter is, interestingly, queer-coded and Oliver is an all-American boy bot.

It's become a total slog thanks to the vagueness of the examples presented.
