I’m supposed to be reading Bared to you by Sylvia Day for a book club, but accidentally picked up this book instead and started it before realizing I was reading the wrong book.
I made it to chapter 7 or so and then realized but I’m already committed and now I’m panicking I have to start the other book before the deadline.

It’s human trafficking awareness month and I’m reading this book. I’ve read several like this, worked in the social service field, and worked with young victims of sex trafficking, and yet I read with anguish every time.

She’s just got booked and all I could think of is all the adults in her life that failed her.

Just finished the scene between Deborah, Rebecca, and zakariyyah. Reading how Deborah gave the photo of her mother’s cells with the DNA highlighted to her brother and how much that meant to him was beautiful.

Listening to the ending come for his father is agonizing…

Fun read on audible. Quick and easy. Woodley did a great job narrating .

The author does a beautiful job at explaining the science and history of the groundbreaking work that Henrietta’s cells created as well as giving a voice to the family members who have suffered in isolation and silence while history was being made.

She gives a face, a personality, and force behind the cells that seemed to carry her spirit long after death. The book is a powerful tribute.

I’m struggling to finish the book. I can deal with the character being unlikeable but the story is not moving fast enough.

i love the book so far! all characters are interesting. jus wishing i saw more of nina.
