bruh

2nd time i have felt compelled to watch some sort of medical procedure by a book and have given myself jaw pain from clenching my teeth too hard while watching

i never read books in their entirety in high school (except poisonwood bible and wuthering heights) and i distinctly remember how often yams were brought up when this book was discussed in class and i was like “surely they’re over-exaggerating how often yams are mentioned” and no.. yams are really brought up like that.
this is for you mr. pearl

aw shit here we go again

i’m giggling and kicking my feet

????? cactus groping ??

i think one of my biggest hang ups with sci-fi is that i would rather read about the stuff it’s commenting on as non-fiction. like the core can be interesting to me, but the stuff that wraps it up to make it a sci-fi story is quite boring. i just don’t care when it comes to most sci-fi for me- i would rather have the information presented in a different genre

jesus fucking christ i audibly gasped

oh this is a joy

😭😭😭😭😭😭

this is FUN!!! i love being in linda’s mind

soft dnf. just not in the mood for it

dnf

you look like slut machine shayla???

from the bathroom floor?! 😫

the vibes here are fantastic. this book is so creepy

😭 !?

u kno wat…. i’m intrigued

i’ve tried to pick this up a couple of times and this is the first time it’s sticking. i’m not far into it but it feels a little crazy to read about things i’ve only heard in passing from family members that would have been young (~teenagers) but alive during the dictatorship. probably not the best holiday season conversation :p

lol beppo

:(

if i didn’t own this i would dnf right here. i don’t care about a “deeper meaning.” fuck your deeper meaning. i am careful to say what should and shouldn’t be written so instead i’m going to say that i wish i never read that. it is something that will stay with me forever in the worst way. i feel nauseous. very personal reaction to this- i don’t know if others would, but i wouldn’t want to know

power went out for the entire street. perfect time to start this
