This book is a fucking whirlwind and I have no clue what's happening and what's real versus not, I was scared that I wouldn't like this but now I'm hella locked in.

I'm liking this more than Heir of Fire but I think that's more about the plot and Manon than anything. Also I swear to go the three stooges are killing me.

God I love Dianna being evil as shit, I know it won't last but a girl can dream. I still have no real thoughts about Samkiel. Like I love him but also hate him? The possessive part of his plot is rubbing me the wrong way, but I think a lot of that has to do with it being such an over saturated character trait for men in romantasy. Him and Kaden got me side eyeing this book but I'm having fun so imma let slide for now

C.G. Drews really knows how to write a toxic and complex character and somehow make you feel for them. Like you know Elodie isn't in the right, but reading about the snippets of her home life and the balancing game she's partaking in while she juggles her son's autism and more than likely her own, it makes you want to root for her in a weird way. I'm curious to see where it goes, but knowing Drews I'm terrified to

This is such an interesting book I will say. I wish that I had read it straight through instead of taking a large break between the sections I was reading. Reading this in the grand 2026 definietly has me thinking about the political takes and implications scattered throughout this book. I'm not sure if I'll be able to put my finger on it in the end, but the conversations about policy and governance are interesting.

Well here we go again. I will finish this even if it kills me I'm just hoping that everyone's right and I'll begin to like this book. I love manon, Dorian, and I like the portrayal of Celaena's depression...but I swear to God every time my enemy, Chaol, comes on page I start raging.

This is by far the worst thing I have ever read/listened to. These two do not and should not be together. He's a fucking rapist! Plain and simple! Idc how the book tries to justify it! This isn't dark or taboo romance, it's just fucking crimes and abuse smashed together and presented like its normal! It's absolutely disgusting. I would have dnfed this if I was doing anything but the audiobook!

WTF IS HAPPENING???? WHY ARE WE DOING THE ROMANCE STORY COMPARISON BETWEEN THE MAIN LEADS THAT THE PARENTS OF THE MMC'S PARENTS HAD???? MIND YOU THE DAD GROOMED AND RAPED A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL!? WTF!?

Will and Damon getting together would be a better book. Like the tension between them is better than anything else like what do you mean " we got up to some fun...without girls." Like y'all gays as shit no wonder you hate women sm

I FUCKING KNEW IT! OMG. I won't say I hate this book, cause I don't, but for the love of God and other deities, this book makes me want to scream and annoys the shit out of me!

This isn't as good as contract bound for me but I had really good bones and I'm hoping it can follow through with the end and the other books. I still love this and it hits incredibly hard in parts but it's missing something and idk what that something is rn

I did not expect to like this book as much as I have and now I fear this is a new favorite of mine
