With all the older female authors, I would think there would be more dark romances available that aren’t centered around a girls youth and virginity. I think I’ve read all I can on audible.

My creative writing professor once said the best stories happen when writers drag their characters through the mud.

What’s the point of writing mafia romances if the characters aren’t being put in difficult/scary situations, or constantly being challenged?! Without conflict and action readers are left with too much inner monologue. Which is starting to become a pet peeve for me.

I was confused the whole book and when answers came it was underwhelming. The spice kept me reading.

Men dealing with teens, comes across as toxic to me.
Throughout the book the FMC still comes across as a child. She gave me 2nd hand embarrassment throughout the book. I know that she is fresh out of high school but I personally dislike romance novels with teens as the main character.

Starts off kinda blah, didn’t know what to expect.
