yayy

yes i went to the library and found the tiniest new releases i could… in fervent hopes of meeting my reading goal… goodreads in my brain…. so far this is hallucinatory and dark much like “I gave you eyes and you looked towards darkness”. and i’ve been on my danish author sh*t lately so it was a good sign that the single other danish author i’ve read blurbed this book!

i remember being fascinated by this book when i was ~9 and doing my sage project 💅 on orchids. i believe i ended up writing a noir-like story about some orchid detectives. revisiting now bc i came across it (while, admittedly, searching for short audiobooks in hopes of meeting my reading challenge goal, i know, i know) and it had a mystical hold on me. orchid time!

piqued my interest after Greta and i’s recent mockingjay parts 1 and 2 viewing which are truly sobering. no comment on the newest movie

bought this at the “world’s tiniest bookshop” in sedgwick maine <3 i believe this is by the man who runs the shop, and i was so taken by the location, not least the most glorious rainbow… looking to be more intentionally AWESTRICKEN in the coming months and i think this will be a lovely entry <3

man this fuckass classical painting/bright paint splotch/tender and gripping coming of age combo got me at the library today. young mungoesque i pray? i guess every book about a little gay boy can’t be young mungoesque but boy do i wish they were!

titillating and very well written thus far, imo. has taken a direction i wasn’t expecting but am very intrigued by…
