What a WILD ride! I read this while listening to the graphic audio and let me tell you...why did I sleep on this book for so long?

I think I just had what will be the best day of my entire life.

Buddy reading this with my mom! I bought us each a copy and now we finally both have time to sit down together and read it. I expect this book to be full of angst, longing, and Kingsley. In other words, perfection!

Just realized I have read Onyx Storm twice within the span of six months...what an enlightening accidental occurrence.

Also, Dani Francis is a Fourth Wing fan and you can't convince me otherwise.

I loved this book way more than I was expecting to.

This was the first book I bought when I moved to Maryland, and it has been sitting on my shelf ever since. I guess I haven't been in the mood for a murder mystery until now. This is probably the only book I will ever read by Karen M. McManus, but it was great! The twists kept twisting until the only reason you could guess who the murderer was was because they were the ONLY one left. This author is thorough.

Flowers and Fatality is still my favorite, BUT THAT ENDING!! There better be many, many more mysteries left to come. I wish that last chapter had been longer, but OH MY GOSH GRANDPA EVERLEIGH YOU MADE MY HEART DO THAT FEELING THING IT DOESN'T LIKE TO DO.

That's a wrap for this week. Man, why are LITERALLY ALL THE MEN perfect? Hmm? Darkling, Mal, and now Nikolai. My girlish heart can't handle it.

I will say, Leigh is very good at ending each of her chapters tastefully so you can stop and not feel like you are anxiously missing something at night. Each chapter is like its own many stories, in a way.

HE'S THE SECOND BORN CROWN PRINCE? Did not see that one coming.

So...does that make him a traitor towards Alina? Sturmhond might be my favorite character now. I will fight you for him, Cheyenne!

If Kate publishes 49 books of Saffron mysteries, I will read them all.


Also, I KNEW ELIZABETH AND LEE WOULD BE A THING! I mean, I hoped, BUT I AM SO GLAD THAT ITS BEING HINTED AT!!! "We went out together, once or twice." GAHHH

THERE'S A THIRD. It must be some kind of bird since the covers are a stag, a dragon, and a bird.

"Besides, I like to have powerful enemies. Makes me feel important." I think I am in love. Ms. Bardugo, what do you infuse your magical men with, ay?
Also, he is honorable, and I admire that.

Ooo, so there are defiant Grisha besides Alina.

I feel bad for the Grisha. The reason Leigh Bardugo's series is so popular because the good guys and bad guys aren't black and white. The Grisha are scared and want to be free, equals if you will, left alone, so they do the bidding of the Darkling because he can, or says, he will give them that. And humans are afraid because evil Grisha do exist and abuse their gifts. Its layered and raw and utterly complex.

THE TWINS ARE HEARTRENDERS? Plot twist!

Okay Sturmhond, defying the Darkling is hot. I GET IT NOW CHEYENNE.

KPOP Demon Hunters is everything I wanted the flop that was Cruel is the Light to be. It was way better than I was expecting! The movie, not the disaster of a novel haha.

Picked this up the second I ended today's bestie phone call update haha. Cheyenne you better get the second book from the library on Friday. *glares*

Is it bad that we both are only reading this so we can read Six of Crows? (me thinks it is.)

That's my portion of the week. I LOVE the magic system; its so creative, which is a breath of fresh air as an avid reader.

I had something for this series spoiled, and knowing what I do and seeing how the Darkling feels, I think he dies in the end. Which, if I am right, I am sad about because I love my morally grey guys! And he and Alina would be cute together.

Finished my portion of the buddy read before the joint update on Sat! Now I gotta go and make a page of notes. Let me tell you, I had a hard time stopping at the end of chapter five; this book has me sucked in.
