Here’s to finally making progress with this book after 2 years 😂

Zen.. you… I totally saw this plot twist coming, but ugh yeah. 🤦🏼‍♀️ And I so have a feeling this is only gonna be resolved in book 2, but I’m just so scared for my boy 🥺

Excuse me Amelie Wen Zhao, my feels are all over the place, chapter 25 made me cry like a baby in the middle of the night, it was so perfect 😭❤️

Now I’m at a good stopping point and I think I’ll only continue once I feel strong enough to do so 😂 BUT, there’s not much left of book 2 now, it’s just that it’s gonna be the most intense part 🙃

Ew, the body horror, and I’m pretty sure this is just the beginning. I didn’t miss this, will need 5 business days to recover and it’s still gonna haunt me. Cannot wait to get through CN book 2. 🙃

Well, here we are, everything is already going very wrong as expected. I’m so not ready for the fall of Xianle. 😭

On page 33 and a certain person is already carrying his dead child around, what a start, I didn’t expect less from book 2 (I mean Chinese book 2), hence the reason why I stalled reading the series bc I knew it’s gonna be wild. But here I am continuing this bc it’s still a masterpiece, and I can skim read disturbing parts anyways. 💁🏼‍♀️

Now we’re really going somewhere! I’ve been really enjoying these chapters, and can I just say - Wenzhi, I love you so much. 😭❤️

Wenzhi, thank you for carrying this book on your shoulders. And FINALLY something actually started to happen that would definitely move the story forward. Also - Prince Yanxi is my fave besides Wenzhi, I love his character so much, I wish we got more of him 🥺❤️

Thank god for Wenzhi and Shuxiao, they at least make Xingyin think twice before she acts. 😅 Also Xingyin thinking she’s not guilty of anything… well girl, I know you’re trying to sweep guilt under the rug so you don’t break, but all the rash and reckless decisions you’ve made will catch up to you, I’m sure 🤷🏼‍♀️

Xingyin is so not well in this book which is totally understandable. She’s confused and she acts rashly every damn time, so even if Wenzhi stalking her isn’t okay, I’m just thankful he can be there when someone has to get her out of the trouble that she’s made for herself. 😅 I’m so so excited to see where the story goes from here. (Also, Chang’e’s just so stupid I can’t🤦🏼‍♀️)

At this point I just hope Liwei and even Wenzhi knocks some sense into Xingyin. She’s being foolish, rash and too naive. I can clearly see where it is coming from, but she’s gonna cause so much trouble by acting rashly, and believing things she should be waaaay more cautious about.

A character came into picture - who I did not expect, although it makes sense. BUT, I’m not the happiest with this character’s appearance. Maybe only because I kinda wished the story to deal with other matters. I’m curious to see how the author dealt with this and if she could make me love this storyline. 🤔 Also - huge applause for Liwei, I love him for what he’s doing in this book.

Good lord, I’m only at chapter 4, but I really have to control myself not to read it in one sitting because I have so much stuff to do and I don’t have that much time for reading but DAMN. I love this book so much already, the Celestial Kingdom duology is probably one of the best things I’ve ever read. 🥺

This beautiful book is finally out in the world, and while I’m waiting for the fairyloot edition, I couldn’t help but buy the ebook, so HERE WE GO!! 😍

THESE CONVERSATIONS 🥺😭❤️ Seriouslyyy, this one particularly. If Hua Cheng wasn’t a ghost king, he could just work as a therapist. With that said I want my own Hua Cheng, thank you. 💁🏼‍♀️

[…] For a few minutes, a wish put a sword in my hand and gave me power over the grimness of our world.” THIS BOOK. Love the writing style, & as for characters, Jase has my heart.🥰

I didn’t know what exactly to expect from this book, but oh boy it drew me in right away. The writing style is perfect. When you have lines like: “The ghosts, they never go away. They call you in unexpected moments, their hands lacing with yours and pulling you down paths that lead nowhere.” you just know it’s gonna be a good one. 💁🏼‍♀️

Takkan dear, you’re carrying this book on your shoulders, I love you so much. And FINALLY, it has picked up the pace! It really was about time. Although, I’m not really a fan of the magic in this book.
