My first book in my holiday to Egypt!!
I was reading this on the plane, and in the airport during the layover in Turkey.

I am 127 pages into this book and I’ve already cried twice.
I am in awe of how he conveys racism and the stark differences between social classes. Furthermore his portrayal of emotions such as guilt, sacrifice and love are astounding as well as his complex character relationships.

I love Hassan.
Amir is the devil reincarnate except he has crippling daddy issues and a severe desire to be loved. #cowardforlife

I don’t get the hype???????????

Help… I’m reading the physical copy instead of on my kindle and the font is so small on the version I bought. It feels like reading one of those small classics where all the words are crammed on the page.

I am so so so excited!! The only thing is I’ve not read the first three, only watched the movies. I tried as I am a firm believer that the books are always better, but I felt like I was being forced to read them so I simply used free will and chose not to, that is the only reason as to why I’m finally picking up this series again so late. I hope it is as good as the first three, can’t wait for 0.5 already

I have had the extreme urge to stop reading this book at mark it as DNF since around 40%. It was so hard to get into and I’m afraid the lacing has not improved. The only reason I didn’t is because this was the first book of 2026, it’s safe to say I’m extremely disappointed.

I am yet to start this book however I did my mandatory search on TikTok, my research gleaned interesting results. Every review I watched spoke volumes, it is an extremely heavy read with sensitive themes and carries an extremely strong message. Considering this will be the first book I enter 2026 reading is a daunting thought, let’s hope it doesn’t put me in a book slump as I want to read 100 books this year!!

I should be sleeping as it’s 03:30 am and it’s my sister’s wedding week. I have to get up early tomorrow to go shopping for bangles and last minute things and then get ready for the third dholki but nooo I’ve been sucked into the Maddox world and now there’s no going back!!
