This is one of those books where you don’t know what is happening so you rush bc you are so curious to figure it out and it takes all the will power not to go looking it up so you can just relax already

Digital loan - have no idea if i finished this or not? But I can’t see a reason why I wouldn’t have? Still I’ll leave it here until I have a chance to double check.

This is about where my loan is going to expire, I am at 65% & have two days but I’ve been neglecting this for a dozen books I find more interesting & I don’t see that changing before it expires.

I got to at least 55% before wandering off to read something on a shorter loan & didn’t make it back before this one expired.

Okay so it has actually managed to get worse? Somehow? Ughhhhh

Okay so i hate this? It’s actually bad? Wtf?

I’m at 80% and I’ve basically given up on trying to suspend disbelief. I want to write a long rambling somewhat spoilery synopsis of everything that is annoying me but I’ll power through the last 20% first. And probably at least two more books in the series (depending on how many there are, possibly more!) bc that’s how I’m built, sigh

If you didn’t love this book, you either didn’t read this far or you don’t have a heart.

This entire book could exist just for this one moment and it would be enough. It would be more than enough.

But having to learn everything through the filter of this particular protag is it’s own layer I’m not always able to fully appreciate.

but I have really enjoyed the way the other characters stories have been told, the way they are shown but then also told (and that they are meant to be told by the characters themselves) in a way that lines up to create more showing & not just “expo”

I just hit what feels like a significant turning point, so I want to record some thoughts - I think this story may have been better served by a different protagonist, bc the protagonist has that “adolescent boy written by an adult woman” feel (honestly don’t know the gender if the author)
