Tried to do the audiobook and couldn’t reign in the adhd distractibility and auditory processing challenges, so restarting with the kindle version so I can read a paragraph 3 times if necessary.

Struggling because it keeps triggering ocd things

I am HOOKED. Her writing is so beautiful it’s poetic and it perfectly describes the experience of being in a normal-ish family that becomes sucked into fundamentalist patriarchy control.

Made it 5 minutes into the audiobook before giving up. The narrator uses that fake super soft voice that’s one step shy of Michelle Duggar and then attempts other accents and voices to much are somehow worse (for me). I’m sure some folks appreciate that type of narration but it’s a hard no for me. So I’ll be seeing out an alternate copy of this book.
