Do I think this is a good book? Probably not. Am I entertained by nearly every page? Definitely.

I avoided this book for many years out of fear of how heavy it might be. Reading it now, I can't put it down; but my younger self had the right idea about the potential emotional impact. Oof.

I'm pretty sure I have a strong opinion on this book, I'm just not sure what it is yet.

Going on a nostalgic trip down memory lane: the first and only time I read this was when it was being published as a webcomic, back when not only queer comics as we know 'em now but the internet as a whole was just coming into being.

If I was not obligated to read this for a course, this would be the moment I'd put the book away and never touch it again.

To be fair, I'm reading only the original English text for a class --I'm using the facing Italian translation for language training. It would be far above my level if the original poem wasn't right next to it.

First time reading an actual book in German! Slow but steady does the trick...
