My mama recommended this book to me. I’m excited to read it.

I’m still very much confused by everything going on.

I’m a bit confused by what is going on. It almost feels like I’ve missed a big part of the story. As if it’s from a continued series. But I think I’m reading the first book in a series, so maybe it’s one of those stories that plugs in the pieces as it goes.

Continuity error: Sozin apparently discovered the secret to lightning bending in Wan Shi Tong’s library, and a technique on how to redirect lightning. But in Avatar: The last Airbender, it was General Iroh that invented the technique on lighting redirecting from studying waterbenders. This almost feels like the writer is just throwing in a reference to the last airbender without understanding the lore first

Kassel is an idiot. Also an obvious scapegoat

I hate that a suicide was used to help show a “softer” side of Deverrel. But it just shows him as a bigger creep. He’s literally catching charges left and right. He forced himself on Corvina in the library, (sexual assault). He’s admitted to breaching her privacy by reading confidential documents, and now possibly false imprisonment. Everything about this is just ick. Ick ick icky.

Where is the plot? Still looking.
