This was assigned before spring break. I bullshitted everything surrounding it. I got all A's. Final paper time comes, I have to choose my topic. I choose The Tempest and The Waste Land cause I hate Homer, despise Ovid, and am a little sick of Dante. I deserve to be put down like a dog, but this essay will be a raw steak they give me on my last day.

I know I said carrying a copy of Middlemarch with me makes me feel performatively but the way this book is formatted typeface and spacing wise doesn't give me motion sickness so I've been able to read it on the train. I’m writing this from my pulpit to have proof: I wanted to finish Middlemarch in a month which I failed at, but I also haven’t finished Moby Dick. I’m going to read 30 min of Middlemarch and afterwards 30 min of Moby Dick until finished, while reading shorter novels on the side to keep myself literary motivated. I really do love the writing style but it’s hard to keep up with all the characters and plot

Wanted to read this whole thing and finish Moby Dick by the end of March, learnt I will be reading Moby Dick for my only lit class (American literature and philosophy of the 1800s) next semester so Melville is on the back-burner. I really do struggle with this but it is a rewarding text, and I sure as hell prefer this writing to The Mill in The Floss.
