This book jumps between pollock worship to “yea but he was also a violent alcoholic but his drips were good” ???? There’s 150 about how great his wife is and so much of it is placed in the context of him being a drunk monster??? No wonder the CIA funded him

The author spent like three chapters hyping up how hot Elaine de Kooning was so I finally looked at the pictures in the middle. And you know what, good for her! Her self portrait from 1946 is one of my fav paintings ever, sadly not on view though (https://npg.si.edu/object/npg_NPG.94.81)

This book ends the content at page 716 so I’m like 7% through, I’m excited to read nonfiction again!!

Im really tired and don’t wanna do my finals so im letting myself read 20 minutes to clear my brain before going back to work. Might as well hit .03% of the book

I locked myself out of my room, took my wellburtin without melatonin, so stayed up all night, read half of the pages assigned for this class, and then fell asleep on the couch at 6 in the morning after doing sporcle quizzes for an hour. It has never been more back.

I’ve had two meetings with profs this week before break, the second was my prof for this class saying how sad she was to not have me as another student again (assumed I was a senior) and agreed to be my research advisor if my app gets approved, and the first was my philosophy prof asking if I had ever been taught basic writing mechanics and saying, “you perplex me” so we’re so fucking back everyone

this book is ass but it's needed for my final likely, the greatest thing this has done was inadvertently lead to be obviously flirting with someone in a mosh pit

I'm supposed to be so much further into this (Chapter 20) but puked up a Panera chicken sandwich so I slept for an hour instead and watched 5 episodes of smiling friends. Praying I can think of a way to derail class

I need to read 30% of Walden but I bought a 20 hour $25 audiobook with Emerson, Thoreau, and Whitman so I’m gonna get my moneys worth cause mama didn’t raise a quitter!!!

Also I’m behind on nonfiction reading tbh, might as well be reading philosophy on my own instead of just in class.

Succumbed to peer pressure and drank an energy drink and some tequila to motivate myself to get a midterm in. I gave up cause I couldn’t focus and I’m it’s 2:30 am and I can’t sleep. I had a white monster and it created a second. So I’m gonna start Pynchon. I love modernism so much I may do my senior thesis on brodernism!!!

I love my 18th century lit class and prof but holy shit I cannot be reading 107 pages during midterms week

This is my leading choice for the Nobel this year so I've been trying togrind through his only book in English on audible, curious how Tarr made this into a 7 hour film

It’s a few weeks before Nobel week so I’m trying to run through three shorter texts by who I think the winner will be (Kranszahorkai, Pynchon, Xue, or Murnane)

I lowkey haven't kept up with the assigned reading cause my toilet fucking expolded and I got bigger fish to fry than 18th century lit, also yea, this does kinda suck but hey I need to do a 4 page analysis of Letter XV by next week

Rewatched The Piano Teacher and am now really interested in German lit

This book will prob suck but fwiw, I was instantly hooked and I don’t think that’s just cause I was trying to avoid my motion sickness on bus on the way to work

I got an advisor on my presentation but she hasn’t read it either so we’re gonna be bullshitting this together
