4h45m of audiobook listening I’m so fucking awesome and performative

My last fiction book for my reserach project, will be reading this and the anti-feds in quick succession with each other until August to keep pace! yay!

I found a copy in a bookstore (Lost City in Admo for any DC people) and idk what it was but something commanded me to get it. Will be chipping away at it on the bus to work, starting off my day wit a heartwrenching memior about death and decay!!!

This book is good but how is it so fucking long 😭, I got to the big twist and have 5 hours of listening left

Ears perked up when they mentioned the Beck Depression Index like a dog hearing the word park, only to have the same alarmingly concerning score as Connell 😶

Still not a mystery fan but this one is riveting and the victorian dribble gives me enough time to consider the mysery while listening

So behind on my reading schedule but this book is so good

There is a chapter about a doctor arguing why touch is the more important sense to sight and than 30 pages later one called "On the Jews" omfg

Lowkirkenely great book but it made me almost cry and feel a need to contact my ex so will finish tomorrow

Lowkey this book is useful for my thesis but not good

This will sound silly but I’ve found that 3.7-3.9 avg rating on this app is the sweet spot for a life changing book, and this being so high kinda worries me. Not that it isn’t good but like? Why do so many people adore this?

Tokarczuk is certainly not an indie unknown author but I do hope she gets her flowers for this book as a work of autofiction, the shorter chapters really are so beautiful
