Seems like a happy ending is approaching but we still have so many pages ahead.Am I getting my hopes raised for nothing again?

I switched to this book because i wanted something more fast paced.And from the very first page i knew i had made a grave mistake because inasmuch as i was intrigued i knew I wasn’t prepared mentally to read about a child going through parental neglect and torture (?).And now i feel stuck because I want things to go well for Oto (Lori) so bad but there’s so many pages left and I can only assume it gets worse

Second story its bitter sweet in a good way though but its sometimes hard to get who is talking in the beginning because of insistence in using the first person pov with new characters from the get go..I guess its been a while since i read a book like that..After i get an idea of who’s pov it is,It is smooth sailing and quite enjoyable

The first story was so beautiful…Heartbreaking but beautiful
