Holy shit i may actually finish a series. Huh

I've noticed this series has become less grimdark as its gone along. Its still pretty miserable and the characters mostly immoral, but the ever present misery of the first book is gone. Its a nice little development on Jorg's narrative style.

I LOVE when Jorg becomes a Butcher. I was GRIPPED during the whole Bad Dogs scene. FUCK YEAH I LOVE GRIM DARK!!!!!!

144 is exactly 25% of 576, thats a fun little thing

I almost forgot how wonderfully gory this series has been. Hammering nails into a bishops skull and describing how a different one affected him each time was METAL.

Also its a little thing but im enjoying how long the chapters are in this one, makes it feel more grand and final for the last book in the series

Beneath the Ashes was too short to be interesting, the "twist" "gut punch" at fhe end would have worked if I spent alot more than 20 odd pages with these very annoying characters
