diamond felts is such a classic Annie proulx character and im so attached to him

Reconciling with Joyce carol Oates

Like. This is fine. Im finding the way that the camp is written to operate in the book bothersome bc it feels irresponsible and not well thought out. I also feel like the time jumping around from the 50s to the 80s is making the story feel less coherent and im losing the immersion that only starts to build each time before they switch time and perspective.

Torrey peters is a beast this novel is phenomenal

i thought this book was a touch melodramatic at the start but it has grown on me hugely

the play adds complexity to arnold's character as well as his relationship with alan and laurel that i think they may have run out of time to explore in the movie. really big fan

enjoying this very much. fantastical recollections of family and villages and mental illness and the setting is so rich that i can read pages of description of just one store and still be enjoying it. tbh so many new words I have to google as well hashtag expanding my vocabulary

im in love with the prose in this book and the magic way it flows. it's breaking my heart i feel so terrible for marina.

FASCINATING.

so enjoyable. i love the storytelling. the world is so real and lived in. the way the "manuscript" has footnotes and immerses you in the time of its telling is so so good.
