The strangest thought just occurred to me while reading this, and I'm not sure it has much to do with this book, other than that there are mermaids. But seriously, how do mermaids procreate?

Ugh. This is mind-numbingly boring, but part of me feels like the type is so big and the writing so juvenile I should just finish it anyway. Not sure what type of payoff I'm hoping for though.
