Honestly, I’m finding this book tiresome and the open door sex scenes are pornographic. Disappointing, overall…though I am going to finish it, I do not think I can recommend it without wishing for a heavily edited and strongly abridged version. Sigh.

Ah, Charlotte Lucas and her very utilitarian view of marriage. And dear Lizzy, so disappointed in it.

There is really not much like a palate cleanser of a read like Austen.

Interesting way to read the Bible, with no chapters or verses or headings.

This morning, I finished the Gospel of Luke, and my reading of it was so enhanced and made better by the commentaries included. Bishop Barron, as ever, shone a light on things that I'll be considering and reflecting on for a long while. I also appreciated the insets by saints and Christian notables⏤Irenaeus, Benedict XVI, Chesterton, Fulton Sheen, and many others.
