Halfway through my reading of Ron Chernow's "Washington, A Life." It's a thick book in a small font but easy reading. Chernow's focus on human strengths and frailities makes this volume a page turner. His amazing details of the birth of our nation makes me grateful for the stamina and bravery of Washington, his aides, and the soldiers who were poorly supported by the Congress - lacking food, clothing, shelter...
