How is it still interesting? All these convos and detailed interviews and I’m still engaged.
Haven’t read many books like this!

This never happens but I am actually enjoying the middle of this book so much! Usually it’s a like sandwich with a plowing on through the middle… or some rendition of this.
It reminds me for some reason of East of Eden, maybe the era. I’m not sure.
It’s like the Snow Child and East of Eden made a baby.

I can tell I’m in the presence of a great book

What is happening? Is it satire? Who is reliable? What is reality even?!

Such incredible language and vocabulary. I have found a deep empathy and admiration of Jane as well.

Quite interesting history and insight into medieval monks so far.

I have enjoyed some great insights in this so far but also finding it a bit odd… you can be an ‘’orphan’’ but also have a ‘’priest’’ in you??
Feels a bit reaching, but I’m going to keep going and hold onto the good nuggets.

Feels like a slow paced exploration through a foreign city. already some of my favorite descriptions of intimacy.

Holy cow, heavy stuff… I was thinking more ‘’you should talk to somebody’’, but this is intense. Very interesting though
