How wanky is that

Finished the Sisyphus essay which is basically what I wanted to do.

Camus is a fantastic writer, and the idea of the absurd man is pretty convincing. But I struggle to agree with his initial point on which the rest of the essay is based on, that life is of no consequence.

I think maybe it’s a reading that I don’t fully understand, which is why I struggle so much with it.

The lion is finding this book quite complicated already

The lion is having another go.
Already had to look up a chapter summary because I couldn’t remember why they were having the meeting, which is a good sign.

I’ve reached the last part of volume four, which means I’ve got about 160 pages left. So far, part four has been about the 1812 French campaign in Russia, with a large part of the focus on the war side rather than all the characters we’ve sat with for the rest of the book. I keep trying to understand what I’m reading in the context of the rest of the book but it’s still not making sense to me; let’s see

In this part, Tolstoy describes why he hates napoleon so much, and then briefly talks about calculus

In another life I bought the abridged version and finished this book last year, happier and with very little difference to any of the other decisions that I made :,(
