So Gideon has been trying to figure out if Rune was the crimson moth for AGES and finally concludes she's not...just so he can overhear a conversation between Rune and her acomplices ?

Nah. That's way too easy and WAY too stupid. You tell me the uncatchable crimson moth, who's been operating under the radar for YEARS gets caught BECAUSE HER CONVERSATION WAS OVERHEARD ????? BY THE VERY SAME GUY WHO'S TRACKING HER ???

Why does the bad guy always have a sobbing back story ? Can't we have someone evil bc that's just who they are ? I'm tired of men with mitigating circumstances. Stop with the sorry excuses and embrace your dark side

At this point I have read half of this book and nothing has happened.
Rune flirts with Gideon to get intel on Seraphine's whereabouts but Seraphine should already have been purged at this point bc it's been WEEKS. Gideon flirts with Rune to figure out if she's the Crimson moth and everytime he figures it's not her he goes back to flirting with her anyway bc what if ?
Also every single character is dumb as fuck

I'm fairly certain Havelock has ADHD : dude is messy, hyperfocuses, forgets to eat because of said hyperfocusing, and babbles on and on about subjects no one but him has an interest in.
