Reading a Russian edition of this that I can’t find on here so this will have to do and I’ll just have to suffer with the wrong cover for now :/

Practicing some Russian to stay sharp!

I’m not sure if stuff is going over my head or that nothing is really happening? Well like things are going down but a deeper meaning is either not there or I’m missing it for now. I shall see what the rest of the book has to say

Just so Norwegian, I’m finding it really amusing.

Other than that it’s quite fascinating how the two girls are so drawn to each other but choose to keep a sort of distance. It’s a strange dynamic based on mutual respect.

Really am wondering if this book will take a more surreal turn since it’s already given little hints of that.

A lot of the poems are starting to get quite lengthy and going over my head :/ not really evoking much of a feeling from me most of the time since I’m just missing the point altogether. Still finding a few interesting ones; I really should’ve marked them to know which ones I like (oops).

Been quite a cosy read so far. In a way gets me really excited to be a father and do these little things with my kids around Christmas time. The absolute blessing of having a loving family.

In some ways making me reconsider how i view my own life really. Nothing like major but just seeing things from a slightly different perspective which is ultimately what you want from a book!

I’m enjoying Jordan’s poetry a fair bit more than the poets before, she has some lovely digestible poetry.

While she does run laps around my knowledge of vocabulary from time to time at the very least there’s stuff that I understand and enjoy!

Felt like reading more Claire Keegan, I really enjoyed that shortish story I read so why not read some more?!

Also a nice seasonal read for the upcoming winter so should be quite cosy and fun. Just need to get some decent fiction down my neck to get the ball rolling again 🤕

Arvis keeps trying poetry. Saw this in Waterstones and thought it looked pretty neat so let’s see what it’s about.

Going in with very light optimism 😩 poetry is just too tough for me but I will keep trying

So far some interesting criticisms and points centred around the way we live and the world around us.

Knowing he snitched a bunch of people out to the government while being an active critic of the government does make me roll my eyes as I read this but I’ll try to stay open minded since I do love me some 1984 :/

Me and Dylan are having a hard time getting on the same page. Really makes me question if we even speak the same language, maybe there’s a language barrier

I honestly feel so dense reading this…

It’s like trying to make sense of a senile old man’s rambling.

There’s been one poem so far that I’ve enjoyed 😭

This guy also just loves to yap

Idk why I’m finding this such a slug fest when the story is actually quite atmospheric. Slowly will get through it 🙏

Let’s try some more poetry, surely eventually I’ll find something I like

Only a tiny bit into it but god do I love dystopian novels like this. There’s just something so fascinating in the way it’s so oppressive and grimy. The societies they talk about are completely and utterly ridiculous which makes them so much more interesting to learn about.

Russians are also just too talented at writing.

The main character is making me laugh with how he’s unintentionally mocking the reader

This is about to be swallowed like a light snack

Good series for low effort mind off reading. Don’t want anything too stimulating right now 😭
