This was a gripping, very quick read about a young woman who thinks she’s on a hunting retreat with company executives with a promotion in sight only to find her boss is trying to shoot her, and her flight to stay alive.

This is a pretty good book, perhaps a 3.5.

A 3.5 rating, if it were possible.

Pretty good…too drawn out for the plot, in my opinion.

This is a very good book … a 4.5. Characters and story line are great, but the book would be better with less sex scenes. Altho they are well written, so many of them aren’t necessary and don’t add anything to the book.

This is a very different book, and I debated sticking with it at first. However, i am glad I did.

It tells of a Christian retreat center on a very remote island where people like Ione (investigative reporter who has seen many brutal things) and Callen, an EMT who was brutalized by a bereaved father and also by the media, so to heal.

This is a different book, for sure, about an Irish matchmaker, Catriona, and how she meets her match.

Other main characters: Donal and his young daughter, Sara

This is a powerful, very well-written book about the kidnapping of and search for Jacob Wetterling in 1989, an event that highly impacted everyone in the small community in MN and in the entire state.

If it was an option, I’d give this a 3.5.
While the story line is decent, as are the characters, the angst of Matt’s past repeated over and over and over became tiresome. The same was true to a lesser degree of Ashley’s past.

This is an incredibly sweet story about Travis, a rancher in Montana, who becomes father to his brother’s three children—Jim, Scotty, and Beth Ann—and Mary, a spinster librarian in Louisiana who answers Travis’s add for a wife.

Sweet but tense story of Faith, who has run away from an abusive ex-husband, and Luke, a military man home on leave for a family emergency, running his parents’ ranch after his dad’s death and his mom’s heart attack.

Enjoyable and exciting book about police chief Amber Long in a small Alaskan town, and Grier, the fugitive who becomes a hero in her town.

Nice Christian mystery romance about Paige, a vet to whose vet clinic a man drops off an injured dog one snowy night, then takes off. Gabe is a long-time friend and K-9 policeman with a dog named Roki. Figuring out what the man was involved in was the plot.

The plot is pretty good, but the writing needs to be tighter to be worthy of a 4. I give it a 3.5.

What a lovely, poignant story about Grace, a woman caught in a difficult marriage who takes Olivia, her young daughter, and runs away from her wealthy British husband to her grandfather’s old wreck of a house in a rural Irish community where she meets Sean, a builder, and Noel, a wealthy Irishman who hires her to type his memoirs.

I enjoyed this story a lot. Altho I think the writing could be tightened up a bit with less repetition of the issues, it was very enjoyable.

Characters: Aubrey, young single mom in an accident that results in amnesia; Baby/Indy her daughter; Eli, the ER doctor who finds her after her accident and provides refuge for her and Indy at his aunt Rose’s ranch.

This was a sweet romance to which I’d give a 3.5, if it was an option.

Key characters: Rusty, a retired bull-riding cowboy who had a heart transplant; Courtney, a single mom to Trevor and a recent widow trying to make her way in life.

Good book, interesting characters, and it moves along quickly.

It’s the story if Allison Parker, daughter Hannah, ex husband/ex cop Jon, and Colter Shaw, a

3.5, if it could be given. The first half & more seemed really slow. The book would be erred without so much repetition.

Story is of Serafina, a kindergarten school teacher, and billionaire, Logan, who have been best friends since childhood, both living in difficult circumstances as children.

This is the story of Cammie, whose medical-doctor husband testified Steiner a gang leader in a murder trial and their young adult children, Zoe & Jeremy.

Sweet, easy-read book about Carolina, a 40-year-old housewife who is ditched by her doctor husband for a younger woman and ends up with only a jeep and their run-down lake house in their divorce.

While I enjoyed the story, I was frustrated with the writing, which included incorrect tense usage and a rather significant typos.

Good read. Hard to put down. Detective Casey White has been searching for years for her kidnapped daughter, Hannah.
She goes to the Outer Banks on a break from her job and immediately gets involved helping solve the deaths of girls found on a luxury yacht and a girl’s death who came out of the woods and stumbled onto the roadway near Casey’s car, bleeding and pregnant.
Jericho: another important character.

4.5, actually.
This is a story of three women, a mother & two daughters. Well-written with believable characters, it jumps back and forth in time and on which woman the focus is, so it can get confusing.

Lola, mother; Frankie, older traditional, achieving daughter; Callie, younger beautiful, wild, red-headed daughter. It’s a poignant story of their lives that helps you understand why each woman is as she is.

Delightful, gripping, hard to put down. I wish there was a 4.5. I try to be very stingy with 5 stars but wonder if this doesn’t deserve more than 4.

Note: there are parts of this that are hard to read. How they treat women in this culture takes your breath away and breaks your heart.

Very enjoyable romantic mystery about Chelsea, who has been educated in England, sent there after her father was killed over a dozen years ago. When her mother dies in a car accident, Chelsea returns home to their home and family business.

Chelsea is almost murdered in a hike up the mountain behind her home after her mom’s funeral. A PI named Dylan who comes alongside in the fight of and for her life.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s an easy-read sweet story of two people who dated in high school but broke up when she left for fame and fortune in Hollywood. When she returns to help her aging parents with their B&B, her former love and a young orphan play a big role in the decisions she makes.

Fun, easy-read story of Ruby, who raised her two siblings then went west as a mail order bride for Elias Kline, whose wife had been murdered, leaving him with a young boy to raise on his own.

I believe I just found a new favorite mystery author. This book was nicely written with believable characters and a good plot.

Jessie, a DA, is approached by the young adult daughter of a murder victim and begged to check into the case that the police are dismissing as self-defense while the daughter claims her father was murdered.

You’ll just have to read the book to see how this story unfolded.

This trilogy about Marianna, a young Amish lady who moved with her parents from Indiana to Montana in the first book, “Beside Still Waters”, is not only nicely written and easy to read, but it gives insight into the Amish way of life, and beyond that explores God in ways not done by traditional Amish people.
