Jared Tonsfeldt > Recent Status Updates

Haven’t read this in several years. For all the wrong reasons this seemed to be a good time to reread this (I’m either about to find catharsis or I’m going to spiral.)

“Was man, indeed, at once so powerful, so virtuous and magnificent, yet so vicious and bad? He appeared at one time a mere scum of the evil principle and at another as all that can be conceived of noble and godlike.“

If I say that I’m “taking my time with this book and savoring each moment,” does it hide the fact that I’m just really bad at being committed to reading? (Although two things are true are once and I am both relishing taking the time to read this AND also really bad at picking it up again no matter how much I’m reminded I love this damn book with each page I read.)

I don’t know how but I’m pretty sure the first book I’ll finish in over a month and a half is about to be a reread of this dark, upsetting and cynical story that always leaves me feeling like I need a cold shower (why the fuck do I keep doing this to myself?)
