You see... I never learn my lesson. I should be reading the synopses of books instead of blindly following what Goodreads recommends me. It is clear that Ali Hazelwood is a fanfic writer. Love her for that — but the problem here is that this is not a pre-established world?? You can't just throw me right into the middle of this without context like you would for some fic. I like background and details plz.

LOVE that Billy is so faithful to Camila despite being a heartthrob rockstar. Hope that doesn't change. I don't think it will based on their narration. Speaking of which — not sure about the interview style yet. On one hand, I think it works well and is definitely a smart way to tell this kind of story. On the other... it makes it so the characters don't really stick out to me...

What the frick is that ending. Come on now be so frickin fr. Don't get me wrong this sure did keep me entertained. I like Sybil. I like Rory. But I am also frustrated and annoyed at the same time. At least the characters' plot armour is so strong that I know they'll be ok in the next book.

Dang don't like this kind of ending. Sad. But that's ok. This book gave me what I needed. Was it a literary masterpiece? No. But did it keep me entertained and spark my imagination? Absolutely. I love high fantasy! I want to read more D&D books. Makes me miss it.

Never read Twilight. Here we go.

Half way through, done book 1. So far, this book is just incredibly dull! I have lots of thoughts on it, but I will hold off. I want to try and give it a chance and finish it. But, I can't see how this can possibly get any better at this point. I honestly don't think there's 200+ pages worth of story left to tell. I'd prefer to spend my reading week reading something worthwhile... but I can do it.
