Some weird descriptions of Shane and now he’s trying to buy her a watch the home invaders stole? Is he the unapprehended 4th man?

I’ve read this book more than once. But this is my first time listening to the audiobook. I do not care for this narrator. His narration parts aren’t bad, and he can do mild accents. But 90% of the characters sound exactly the same, making it very hard to tell who is speaking.

66% in and now we have backstory. But we get it along with an epiphany that wasn’t worked for. I think I liked him better when he was just a personification of primal alpha.

Sex scenes are hot but plot is almost nonexistent and what is there is repetitive. Basically he wanted to kill but now just wants her, in a very primal way. She shouldn’t want him but does. I don’t mind a psycho for a MMC, but he has no personality at this point. Reads more like fanfiction.

Not sure so far. Taylor is introduced in prologue and doesn’t seem very likable. The mom group is also not very likable. Caroline seems a bit…I don’t know. She wants to fit in so badly. And while I can relate, it makes me sad. Mystery hasn’t really been explained yet.

Ok so the speaking is a bit formal in the print version too. I assume it is to help illustrate that they are speaking different languages utilizing some sort of universal translator. But reading it is less off-putting than hearing it. There’s also some incorrect word choice. Insta-love.

Have switched to kindle version. If the male narrator was the primary one, would have stuck it out. But the story is interesting.

The dual narration isn’t too bad. But the stilted tone of the female narration is distracting.

The alien world and culture is interesting. Character building is…meh. Not awful, there’s at least an attempt. Probably not helped by the female narrator.

Male narrator has great cadence and tone. Not a huge fan of dual narration. Will have to see how it goes with each narrator doing the other main character’s voice.

Female narrator has a strange cadence with odd pauses, maybe at the end of lines she’s reading instead of end of sentence? But tone is good.
