It’s like beginner’s lit fic for men. I don’t know how else to describe it.

So far, not a stellar start for Mr Backman. Very immature characters and prose… let’s hope it improves.

Really struggling to care about this at the moment!

“The Ones Who Stay and Fight” - 5 stars. A perfectly optimistic reaction to Le Guin’e “The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas.”
I can’t wait to read on.

Well, it’s not going to be a happily ever after, is it.

Well, it won’t have a happy ending now will it.

I’ve decided to DNF this. I’ve had to force myself to pick it up, just for the sake of book club. But life is too short to waste time reading books you don’t like!

This book will definitely be a challenge. I really have to focus while reading it!

Snug club’s February book! This will be a challenging read. I can’t tell if it’s the translation from Polish, or if this writing is just very odd - or both. But the author’s “Views” section on Wikipedia is so perfect that I must carry on. “(She) is a leftist and a feminist. She has been criticized by some nationalist groups as unpatriotic, anti-Christian, and a promoter of eco-terrorism.” YES QUEEN.

It gets better with each chapter, but I really thought I would love this more than I do. Hopefully it keeps improving!
