I think I might hate this book.
I normally really enjoy BB Reid‘s Why Choose stories but I purposefully postponed reading this one because it‘s with two women.

I struggle with how queer women are sexualised by men and the male gaze, so I normally don‘t go for these novels with 2 (or more) women that include men. Him hooking up with the 2nd woman without talking to his partner feels like cheating.

The problem with 3rd person books, i feel, is that the language quickly becomes repetitive. Especially with main characters who use the same pronouns: you cannot resort to use “he” or “she”. The reader needs the names.

I just don‘t like the writing style a lot. It feels simplistic, especially considering they don‘t really talk and just fuck a lot. Not enough YEARNING and BANTER!

i wish they‘d talk more ngl. the author skips of their conversations but i need some substance and banter to believe that they‘re falling in love and not just horny

i‘m already annoyed that her chapters are in first person and his are in third person. like what the fuck?

i don‘t know if i can finish this atrocity. i‘m so angry … not because of the story but because the writing just fucking SUCKS ASS

Sometimes a bit repetitive, but Fantasy Love is Blind? Fun concept!

This is already the dumbest book I have ever picked up, but it‘s also fun.

I love how how the Italian character refers to the sea god as “Poseidon”, further cementing my belief that the Greek gods are superior to the Roman ones.
