I see, I was a little quick to judge, there was some value to it. Some mystery, some scare, for sure. Though I support my own previous comment, it was stretched. It felt forced at times, some events, some descriptions. Also it was predictable in some places, too predictable actually, and then in some places it was a surprise. So it's a mixed bag I guess in the end, I don't hate it but I wouldn't hype it up. Hmm.

3:12:25 -- I'm bored of this. Oversimplified language, explanations as if to a 5 year old, e.g. Occam's razor... girl, every 14 year old knows that phrase... "I'm 14 and this is deep" vibes, no? Gah. I'm not even reading, I'm listening, and can't tolerate it. Audio is fun, book itself is boring, the narrative feels stretched as if the author forced themselves to write longer. Like a bad tv movie, Hallmark movie

Pff. Want to hit me on the head with more symbols in case I somehow missed all that? Gee. I'm bored already, I'm a little disappointed actually :/

I don't know how people listen to audiobooks, just started listening to this... probs not my first ever audiobook, but first recently that I can remember of and it's hard keeping track of things a little. I think the father hands a business card that says Faust's photolab or something? Obvious ref. to Faust as in Dr. Faustus or maybe Goethe's Faust... Not a good name lol, let's see. I heard 30 mins so far!

Predictable, but I had fun reading it anyway. So what in the end, was it all real? The visitors are what, entities from other dimensions? They appear as confused as the characters... I don't know. Maybe Macy died and that figure she saw in a plastic bag is her own self? Maybe the beings are real, cosmic entities who play around? It's not giving me a lot to try to piece up like a puzzle, predictable but empty feeling

"Dad pasting the Mullins Mowing logo to the side of his truck…" so Macy kept talking a few times about her dad's truck and this logo that she made as a child and so on. Don't tell me this is a clue, a sort of foreshadowing that her dad will appear as a visitor? Please. Spare me the drama, oh god :'D

somewhere before, 10-15 pages ago I don't know, I saw this: “Miss Bamford said I’d look prettier with it longer, said people wouldn’t think I was a boy all the time. So I buzzed it off just to see the stupid face on her face." and... Stupid FACE on her FACE? Huh? English is a second language to me so excuse me but...

Anyway so far the book is building Macy as a character, her struggles etc, forming a connection...

I started this to take a short break from other books I'm supposed to be reading, so... I think I picked a few things I was thinking of as stuff I should be reading, but those things turned out to be boring to me. Anyway, what I started I should finish, but for a small break maybe this book will help me :/

So far it's fun, it should be over soon. I'm still not sure what is happening here though :D Octopus?

Soooo... What happened to Lydia? She got... updated to the slack and... vanished into the internet void? Aah only bit I don't understand here. This was a fast read :D
