Got so hecking far into this and then lost steam. Loan ran out. Will revisit, but only when I'm in the mood for a magical "realistic fantasy" on the more quirky side. Read it at the wrong time.

A lovely read if you are a fan of Paris. My loan ran out though and I’m not sure I will get it back before the holidays are over😅

Am I rereading this now because Fourth Wing just dragon-ified the tris/four dynamic and now I’m left wanting to revisit the original? Yes.

Okay I can definitely see the hype behind this. It’s all the literature concepts of my generation’s child/teenagehoods combined into one except with dragons and a lot of swearing 😂 BUT I’m not buying in to either of the love interest’s tropes. One doesn’t actually feel like a best friend and I’ve been shown no reasons to believe how “brutal” and “merciless” the other one is.

Listen I asked Alexa to play Skyward last week just to give the house some noise and now I’m 1.5 books away from a full series reread. Audiobooks by this narrator are a SLIPPERY. SLIPPERY. SLOPE.

It’s dragging at this point 🥲 I have anxiety enough in real life that I don’t particularly want to read about it this extensively in what’s supposed to be a fluffy romance. Might have to bail this late in the game which would be painful haha
