This book is more overtly political than the first, and I’m sure it means a lot to a lot of people. For me: oh, the love and delight that Arthur has for his (foster) children. The overwhelming desire to protect them and the fear for their futures. The deep look at what it feels like to belong, and what it feels like to have no where to belong. These characters and their love for one another is beautiful.
