this book really pissed me off i’m sorry.
i hate a plot that revolves around the characters’ indecisiveness.
i also hate a “forbidden romance” plot that revolves around made-up barriers that take .2 seconds for the mc to dismantle in the second to last chapter

so what ur telling me is literally two chapters ago, bestie bri told her to break up with this guy and NOW she’s telling her to uproot her life and get back together with him… either bri is a mushy/underdeveloped character or she’s a bad wishy washy friend

i can smell the third act breakup from here

i love when ur reading an interconnected romance series and you can tell EXACTLY who the next book abt. i think we just met them 🙂‍↕️

- rainy is the March HEIR
- she’s gonna inherit something bc she’s a descendant of a character (gatsby?)

this is my third meg shaffer book and there’s just something abt them i can’t describe

they’re like the same amount of socially/romantically unrealistic as a perfect fluffy hallmark-y romance novel

and the whimsy and fantasy aspects feel like a children’s chapter book (which i know is on purpose but it feels almost tooooo juvenile at times.. the audience is not children but im being talked to like one)

why would you waste my time like that, bunny? i really did not like this, bunny. this could’ve been a novella, bunny. bunny, at first i was intrigued by the other bunnies’ perspectives but then it just dragged onnnnnn and onnnnn. bunny, don’t you realize this was a money grab and contributed nothing to the story, bunny?

they kill jane and farran, get a bunch of money, move away and live happily ever after. they go to wendlyn, she finds her powers, they all work together to defeat erawan and after sam and celeana have a long happy life together then miss immortal aelin and rowan live happily ever after. that’s how it happens right? right.
