Water affects witches in differing ways. Wyn gave Emily a phone. Her Auntie cannot be a witch. Emily is an apothecary but can also see ghosts, and her Grandmother controls elements.

Their back story is developing nicely. Although, in the present, Mac can’t seem to decide if he is fully apologetic or is instead unbothered about the relationship.

Love the bakery and the barn. Kittens are cute. The light display is also so sweet.

There’s a lot going on but I’m loving it.

Annie is a lil too mean sometimes - wonder what the main cause is.

Ooo - Sabine made friends then they were gone. Now she’s in Venice. Interesting. I wonder if her desire to learn and understand more about her kind also has depth to do with her sexuality.

Alice - the flash backs to her sister are really intriguing, mixed with a back story of grief for her mother.

Eww. I hate Andres. He’s so disgusting.

Side note: loveee the writing style. The fact is different depending on the characters POV is really smart; whether it be from 1500s Spain or 2010s Scotland

Ooo interesting story line. It’s interesting to see the development and reveal of the characters’ powers.

So they are all being secretive then there’s a break in so they work together, using their powers to compliment one another.

Everyone seems to find Libby annoying and thinks Callum is a bit full of himself.

“Hallucinations” of a perfect voice. Hmmm. Wonder who that could be.

Jacob’s sick. Bella’s sick. Everyone’s sick. Wonder when he will get better.

Seems to be three main characters being followed so far, all of (somewhat) different time lines.

Loving the premise of the book so far

Jacob and Bella are really sweet - a great friendship blossoming.

Some scenes were of course a nightmare for Bella, but must have been absolutely horrific for Charlie - unable to help her through her trauma and pain.

I’ve forgotten so much about life during the pandemic.

Interesting takes

It’s interesting hearing Theroux’s take on the pandemic, relaying it as diary entries at the time.

Much of what he is saying is relatable - it’s crazy that it’s been over 5 years since the first lockdown occurred.
