Listening to this after Into the Drowning Deep makes me think it’s only natural to listen to Our Wives Under the Sea next. It’s like the more questions I have, the more I want to keep listening.

Another suspenseful science fiction audiobook after Into the Drowning Deep while I work on some gift knits. 😌

I have been devouring the Ironside Academy series. I’m on the last book and I already have that feeling of what am I gonna do after this? Why do I already miss these characters?

This and the Her Feral Beasts series by E. P. Bali have been among my best reads for this year so far. No doubt!

Not sure if the pacing is off or if it’s several consecutive intense scenes and miscommunication.

“You don’t tell me what to call you. I decide that.” Actually had to walk away from the book. Um, excuse me?! More banter with Mikki and Kalen please.

The tension is high and they’re taking too much time to one up each other or make witty comments. Also, why haven’t they started the boat and left?!

It seems as if the characters’ reactions to seeing mermaids, people on the ship being attacked/killed are not enough for me? Is that intentional? Like is it intentional for me to also be caught off guard by these things because of the characters’ being caught off guard? Or maybe it’s the pacing of the book?

But it feels like everyone is so “no big deal” when I’m expecting more “wtf! holy shit?!”

Wondering how much research went into this! Also loving this narrator.

Restarting with the audiobook while I deep clean.

Okay now I have to read Cade’s book because he just brought the tears! 😭

Of course all the high blood pressure action is in the last 20% of the book. 😫🫣

Chapter 15 and 16 were intense! I’m ready to fight after that.

Of course I had to go straight into the next book.

Realizing it’s easier for me to form mental pictures while reading when I connect with the characters or just have a better grasp of their personality. Also — why is the text so small in the book?! I really want to switch to kindle but it’s not available right now with my libraries 😫

I have been listening to the audiobook, slowly and attentively. Currently listening to “The NPC” chapter. Voice has changed. Apparently it is about Marx, but in second person. Audiobook has been okay so far.
