Not this cover but the other one on Libby works for the book face prompt. This book is dark. I’m hoping to finish this before I have to return the hold but I might not be able to. I have another hold available soon

It felt like this was a historical fiction that also tried to be a ghost story. It was separated. It felt like two separate books. I did really like the portrayal of an autism character. I felt like it was inconsistent about who could see the ghosts and when

Loved the first 25ish percent. The pacing feels off now. The characters are realistic and feel different. I like the vibe

He randomly starts complaining about liberal policies ruining cities at one point and I died laughing. I am not opposed to politics in books but it should make sense. It was so random. This was predictable but not bad

The cover on Libby is why better. I would not have picked the book up with this one although perhaps it works for the book face prompt. It’s an international thriller which I thought would be interesting. It’s definitely a men’s fiction. It’s not bad but very male centered. You can tell it’s written for men that like action movies. It’s more tell than show but it’s quick and easy to follow

Strange little book. I liked it. I will say that the cover is like 95% of why I decided to read this. I wonder if this won any awards which is a prompt I need

Night Flyer: Harriet Tubman and the Faith Dreams of a Free People
This an interesting book. She talks about different biographies and their biases. She mentions different sources and people who knew her. Everyone has different biases. We don’t have a direct source from Harriet. It makes you think. Harriet Tubman is mentioned as a slavery and black advocate but she is also a disability and woman’s advocate. I think people downplay her disability. I did not realize she had

I find the fables interesting but it throws the pacing off. They should be put in differently

Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents
This books talks about many events I knew about but more in depth. Some I was too young to completely understand. There were others I never knew about. Well written book. I really like her writing style. I like how she explains things. It’s less dense than other non fiction books. It’s easy to picture. I want to read her other book. Phenomenal book

Actually she is talking about alpha theory not being what they thought. Still that dog trainer was putting her in danger. Glad she figure it out

Her anecdote about dog training makes me cringe. Messing with a dog while they are eating is how you get food aggression. Alpha hierarchy has been debunked. She is likely she did not get bit

Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You
This is an interesting style book. It is more like the author is talking to you. He pauses at times and explain stuff. The whole this is not a history book is supposed make younger readers want to read. I can see it working. I found the parts about the difference between segregationists, assimilationists and anti racist. I did not know that Martin Luther king and Malcolm x changed their positions throughout their
