This is an incredibly dense book. I've been listening to the Revolutions! podcast as supplementary material since I couldn't keep track with all the characters in the story of the Haitian Revolution.

Currently reading this for a research assignment. It's a bit dated, but it gives you a good historical background to the ongoing conflict in Papua.

I have a tendency to leave books behind and then pick them up almost as soon as I forgot what it was about. This was not one that I could easily forget. Herein lies one of the important lessons of this book: "ṣumūd" is a Palestinian term for 'steadfastness'. It is this perseverance that serves as the linchpin for the trinity of fundamentals.

Love, revolution, life; for without them, is life worth fighting for?
